New Research:

Training of key personnel using synthetic environments:

  • Training people to use expensive mining equipment thus avoiding costly repairs (here we are not referring to trucks or diggers as Caterpillar and some private companies have already addressed these issues).
  • Training people to perform hazardous operations.
  • Training people to perform activities that might be forbidden by EPA (for example: training to extinguish a fire in Alaska cannot be performed anymore because EPA forbids open fires).

Enhancing Crisis Management capabilities using communication protocols, databases, key personnel GPS locators and GIS

  • GPS locators and GIS exist on a commercial “off the shelf” basis, but the quality of communication is often poor because key personnel lack training and protocols. Specific protocols can be developed for any industry. An event log database can be produced and an integrated system can be linked to ISO 14000 recording needs in order to enhance long term sustainability.
  • Developing a local wireless solution (Wi-Fi, Tetra) to cover a large mining operation.
  • Using sensors linked to a wireless network.

Information warfare applied against industries

  • What are the vulnerabilities at operational level and at Corporate HQ level?
  • How can a corporation prepare to fight an information warfare attack?
  • How to perform an industry information warfare risk assessment.

Explosive Remnants of War and Antipersonnel Mines universal risk model

  • Integrate several innovative models into one single and “universal” approach
  • Work within existing legal constraints
  • Develop risk acceptability criteria
  • Enable country wide risk comparison approaches
